PRIMARY SOURCESThe documents behind the dates
Every treaty, law code and constitution below is already dated on the atlas as an event in its own right. This page collects them in one place and links each to a real primary or archival text — not a summary — so the paper trail behind Nepal's borders and government is one click away rather than buried in a footnote.
The Treaty of Sugauli below ceded territory Nepal itself had earlier taken from a different neighbor — see Nepal’s neighbors for how “Sikkim Tarai” came to be Nepali territory in the first place.
These links point to transcriptions, official translations and archival scans hosted by third parties — Wikisource, the Internet Archive, WIPO Lex, ReliefWeb and constitution-drafting archives — not to copies held here. Where an original document's physical whereabouts are themselves uncertain, as with Sugauli, that is stated plainly rather than implied away.
